Tanglewood Metropolitan TM3 Orchestra Folk Koa Acoustic Guitar

The Metropolitan Series TM3 guitar is a beautifully crafted instrument that combines timeless tonewoods with modern durability. Built in an orchestra body shape, it delivers a well-balanced sound with a versatile tonal range, making it equally at home with gentle fingerstyle passages or dynamic strumming. Its proportions offer a comfortable playing experience, providing a rich projection without being cumbersome, while maintaining a tonal clarity that suits many musical genres.

At its core, the TM3 features a spruce top, known for its bright, articulate voice and its ability to mature over time, developing a deeper resonance with regular play. The back and sides are made from koa, a striking tonewood celebrated for its warm midrange response and distinctive grain patterns. Using high pressure laminate (HPL) construction for the top, back, and sides ensures that the guitar retains its visual elegance and tonal character while offering enhanced resilience against environmental changes. This makes it a dependable choice for musicians who perform in varied climates or travel frequently.

The natural satin finish allows the beauty of the koa to shine through while providing a smooth, organic feel that is comfortable for extended playing sessions. It reduces glare under stage lights and enhances the tactile connection between player and instrument. The combination of spruce and koa yields a tone that is clear, balanced, and harmonically rich, with enough projection for live performance and enough subtlety for recording work.

Designed for both reliability and inspiration, the Metropolitan Series TM3 blends traditional acoustic guitar craftsmanship with the practical benefits of modern materials. Its sound is as impressive as its appearance, offering players an instrument that will remain stable and expressive over years of use. Whether on stage, in the studio, or at home, the TM3 is built to perform beautifully in any setting.
